Rebuilt = Remanufacturing
A rebuilt engine is a remanufactured engine. After a used engine is unloaded and completely disassembled, all parts are thoroughly inspected. Any worn parts are machined or replaced with new ones if necessary. Then, they are reassembled and tuned up.

Although a rebuilt engine is far less expensive compared with a new one, its performance is almost the same as that of a new one.
